Documentary Production — Brussels & Worldwide

Real people.
Real stories.

For over a decade we've turned complex human stories into films that broadcasters trust and audiences remember. Based in Brussels, we bring the same instinct to the institutions, brands, and NGOs shaping Europe's story.

Two audiences, one instinct

Broadcast craft, applied to issues that matter.

Whether we're filming for a broadcaster, an EU institution, a brand, or an NGO campaign, the job is the same: find the person inside the story, the moment inside the mission, and tell it honestly. It's why organisations that need to be taken seriously keep coming back to us — and why viewers keep watching.

Broadcast & Streaming

Documentary

Character-led factual films for television, cinema, and digital platforms. Over a decade, our work has taken us from the streets of Mérida to rural China, from the US to the UK — always in search of the story hiding inside the headline.

After 35 years apart, Bernardina, an elderly woman from Mexico, is given a final chance to reunite with her undocumented son in the U.S. In Mexico, an estimated 5 million elderly parents have been separated from their children for decades due to strict border policies, with little hope of reunion. The Little White Heads program offers these aging and often lonely parents a rare opportunity: to reunite with their children on U.S. soil after years of separation.

Issue-Led Storytelling

Brand & NGO

The same documentary instinct, applied to organisations with something real to say. Our brand work and our NGO work draw on the same muscle: issue-led storytelling that finds the person inside the brief and tells it honestly.

We've made films for brands including Corona, Nike, and Nokia, alongside emerging organisations — always listening closely, filming honestly, and finding the story at the heart of the brief. That same instinct — giving a voice to overlooked communities, finding the human story inside a bigger issue — is exactly what NGO and advocacy campaigns need: films built to move an audience, not just inform one.

Who We Are

About Omma Films

Omma Films was founded by filmmakers Itza Bocken Méndez and Daniel Patrick Holmes. For over a decade we made award-winning documentaries out of Mérida, Mexico, for broadcasters including Al Jazeera, VICE News, CNN, VRT, NPO, NHK, VOA, and Prime Video.
In 2026 we relocated to Brussels — closer to the institutions, brands, and NGOs shaping Europe's biggest stories, and to a city that needed English-language filmmakers working at broadcast standard. We haven't stopped making documentaries for TV and streaming; if anything, that body of work is exactly why organisations in Brussels hire us — proof that we can take any subject, however complex, and make an audience feel it.
